This will facilitate the recording and saving of videos even when there is no internet connection available around.  Any kind of microSD card, microSDHC, or microSDXC storage card can be configured with Arlo SmartHub to save recording in the absence of internet connectivity. Ideally, it is recommended to configure a microSD card having a storage capacity of 16GB with a speed class of 10, UHS1 and V10. An Arlo SmartHub has been proven to support till 10 UHS-3 V90 class of micro SD cards. One must insert an external micro SD card to the SD card slot of Arlo SmartHub to facilitate the saving of videos to SD card. Steps for accessing video files saved on external micro SD storage card:

  1. Download and open the arlo application or visit www.my.arlo.com to access your arlo account.
  2. Type in the Login credentials to open the arlo account.
  3. Once the home page of your Arlo account opens up, click on “Settings” menu.
  4. Under Settings menu, click on the option labeled as “My Devices.”
  5. Select your Arlo SmartHub by clicking on it. Kindly, remember that you can ask for arlo help if you are unable to understand any of these steps.
  6. Click on “Storage Settings.”
  7. You will be directed to Storage settings page. There, locate the option to “Safely Eject SD Card” and click on it.
  8. Wait and watch till un-mounting of SD card is under progress. Soon as the un-mounting message disappears, take out your SD card from the Arlo SmartHub.
  9. Place the SD card inside the card reader.
  10. Insert the card reader to the card reader slot of your computer or laptop.
  11. Wait till the SD card becomes available for access.
  12. Soon as the card becomes available for access, click on it and view the folder labeled as “Arlo.” There you will find all the 4K high resolution recorded video files in the MP4 format.  So, click on any of the recorded files that you wish to stream and it will start playing in any of the media players available on your computer or laptop. In case, you are unable to play any of the recorded video files, then check and ensure the firmware of media player is up to date. In case the firmware of media player is outdated, then try to get it updated with a recent one. Now, check if you are able to access the recorded video files. If there is no media player on your device, then try downloading any of the free media players like VLCC.
